El Diablo

I have stood against
Wind that held my weight,
Been crashed by waves
That held me down,

Seen trees toppled
By the force of a storm,
And bridges destroyed
By the floods that it caused,

But I have never met
One as destructive as you.
With all that I am, I will
Stand against the destruction
You choose to cause.

About ~Drew

I am a survivor of childhood torture. Each day, I put one foot in front of the other, moving forward. To do any less would spell my own destruction. My music/poetry/prose deal with the devastating effect of this kind of abuse on a human being: me. My experiences/thoughts/ideas/misconceptions are exposed here for all to see. Here. I am lain bare, naked, hidden only be the cloak of anonymity.

Wow, who is this person who is so destructive? The last verse really turns the peom around unexpectedly. I enjoyed it.
