Heaven and/or Hell

That moment that occurs
Between conscious and unconscious~
Between sleep and wake~
Between dream and reality
Is either heaven or hell
Depending on what
Lies behind your
Wall of solitude.

No one can travel with you~
You are completely alone
With your mind~thought~
Twist and turn~try to get
Out~heaven and/or hell
Awaits as your mind
Takes over~involuntary
Brain matter of your
Lighter or Darker side
(Or both at the same time),
And the truth it tells in
Muted tunes and images
As well.

About ~Drew

I am a survivor of childhood torture. Each day, I put one foot in front of the other, moving forward. To do any less would spell my own destruction. My music/poetry/prose deal with the devastating effect of this kind of abuse on a human being: me. My experiences/thoughts/ideas/misconceptions are exposed here for all to see. Here. I am lain bare, naked, hidden only be the cloak of anonymity.

  1. gospelwriter says:

    heaven or hell,
    both dwell within
    making forever wars,
    fierce and furious wars,
    until with one piercing arrow
    we break through
    the dichotomy
    of duality

~Drew, thank you for an inspiring and thought-provoking post.
